War in the North Multiplayer Progress Not Saving
Understand launch reports about guest levels, loot, equipment, and XP not persisting in Legacy Edition multiplayer, then protect your campaign data.
8/14/2026 Last updated: 8/14/2026
Players report that a client joining another host may see Saving Disabled, receive a host-provided character state, and lose session XP or loot after leaving. This is corroborated community evidence, but intent and platform scope are not officially confirmed.
Status: Community-reported on 2026-08-13; host and client behavior needs official clarification.
What we know
- Reported symptoms include level scaling, default or host-owned equipment, and no guest carry-over.
- Campaign progress belonging to the host does not automatically explain all character-persistence reports.
- Older 2011 behavior cannot prove current intended design.
What to do now
- Use one consistent host for the campaign and verify persistence after a short test session.
- Record before-and-after level, equipment, host, mode, and platform.
- Do not overwrite the last known-good local or cloud save while testing.
Evidence boundary
This page describes current reports, not a guaranteed recovery method. Existing lost progress may not be recoverable without a valid prior backup.
